Please read these Terms & Conditions before using Grounded. By using the app or website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Grounded.
1. Who We Are

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Grounded. If you are under 18, you may use Grounded only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Grounded is not directed to children under 13.
3. Your Account
Grounded uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID, device, and Grounded account secure. You must provide accurate information, use Grounded for yourself, and tell us if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. What Grounded Provides
Grounded helps you set daily Screen Time limits for selected apps and categories, see on-device usage summaries, keep under-limit streaks, and optionally link with a trusted person in Guardian mode. Free features and Premium features may change over time.
5. Screen Time Permissions And Device Limits
Grounded depends on Apple frameworks, iOS permissions, device settings, network availability, and your choices. You may need to grant Screen Time, Family Controls, notification, or other permissions for features to work. If permissions are removed, the app is deleted, iOS changes, Apple services are unavailable, or device settings are changed, some blocking or accountability features may stop working.
Grounded is a self-management and accountability tool. It is not a security product, parental-control guarantee, medical service, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice.
6. Guardian Mode
Guardian mode lets you link with one trusted person by invite code. A Guardian or partner may approve or deny extra-time requests, approve or deny daily-limit edit access, see accountability events, receive notifications, and view daily-limit change history for the pair.
Only link with someone you trust. A Guardian is a witness and accountability partner, not a spy. Grounded does not let a Guardian see your screen, messages, app contents, or private activity inside other apps.
Unpairing dissolves the pair and may notify the other person. Account deletion also dissolves any active pair and may notify your partner.
7. Your Content And Conduct
You may be able to send optional request messages, uploaded images, response messages, or GIPHY media references. You are responsible for what you submit.
You must not use Grounded to submit, share, or request content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, sexually explicit, exploitative, invasive of privacy, infringing, misleading, malicious, or harmful. You must not attempt to bypass security, scrape the service, overload systems, interfere with other users, reverse engineer restricted parts of the service, or use Grounded for unlawful purposes.
You keep ownership of content you submit, but you grant Pair Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, display, transmit, store, delete, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate Grounded, provide Guardian features, enforce these terms, and comply with law.
8. Subscriptions, Free Trials, And Billing
Premium features may require an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation, refunds, taxes, and payment information. Final pricing, trial availability, renewal terms, and billing periods are shown in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
If a free trial is offered, it may automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not necessarily refund the current billing period.
For linked pairs, one active Premium subscription may unlock shared Guardian features for both users, subject to app rules and entitlement checks. If the subscription expires, is cancelled, is refunded, or cannot be verified, Premium features may become unavailable.
9. Third-Party Services
Grounded uses third-party services including Apple, RevenueCat, GIPHY, Sentry, hosting, database, object-storage, DNS, security, font, and static-hosting providers. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
10. Intellectual Property
Grounded, including the app, website, design, branding, text, code, icons, graphics, and related materials, is owned by Pair Labs or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from Grounded except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
11. App Store Terms
Your download and use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple's App Store terms and policies. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Grounded, except as required by applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you.
12. Changes To Grounded Or These Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, pricing, availability, or these terms. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page, changing the effective date, or providing in-app notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Suspension And Termination
You can stop using Grounded at any time and may delete your account where available in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, create risk for other users, misuse the service, or if we need to comply with law or protect Grounded.
14. Disclaimers
Grounded is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that Grounded will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or iOS version, or that app blocking will be impossible to bypass. Your use of Grounded is voluntary and at your own risk.
15. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pair Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from your use of Grounded.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or liability that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to take responsibility for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of Grounded, or content you submit, except to the extent caused by Pair Labs' unlawful conduct or where prohibited by law.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your place of residence. You and Pair Labs will try to resolve disputes in good faith before starting formal proceedings, unless urgent relief is needed.
